Westboro Baptist Church, an anti-gay church best known for protesting military funerals, says its members will be at Saturday’s memorial service for Charlie and Braden Powell, the two children who died when their father allegedly set fire to his house.
The small Topeka, Kan.-based church, known for its extreme opposition to homosexuality, claims the boys’ deaths are payback from God over the Washington state Legislature’s support of gay marriage.
Hundreds of people have already vowed online to show up to keep the Westboro Baptist Church from disrupting the funeral, which will be at Life Center Church in Tacoma at 11 a.m.

On her Twitter feed Wednesday, Margie J. Phelps wrote ‘Westboro will picket the funerals of the Powell boys, Sat.,2/11, 12:15p, to remind @GovGregoire they died because of her rebellion,’ and ‘This is why God’s cursed you w Josh Powells blowing up kids.’
Phelps is the daughter of Westboro founder Fred Phelps. Her tweet did not explain how picketing the funeral was a protest against same-sex marriage.

I can't wait until Karma bites them in the a$$. The tragic deaths of these children and their Mother is more than any family should have to bear and then to have these morons show up at the funeral is unbelievable. Do not mistake this trash as Christians, they aren't.
If it was me and my family they were doing this to, I can guarantee they would learn to run at Olympic speeds while hurdling tombstones cause I would have the pedal to the metal and chase their a$$es down. (not kill them but they'd be cleaning their drawers) A few nights with a bed, free housekeeping, paid meals, and a fine would be worth the expression on thier faces.

They make their entire living by angering people into attacking them verbally or physically, and then sue them for all they can. So just remember: don't feed the trolls!

They are mentally disturbed!
Sadly not... they actually have a surprisingly effective business model, as I described above. They are despicable, twisted people, but they are not mentally ill. They are just vile human beings.

They are a tiny minority group and I really believe that every person outside of their organization (they may call it a church but it's not) realizes that they are as far from being Christian and charitable as was Hitler.
I barely even have a comment. How these "people" can look at an incident and immediately determine it is God's anger over anything is just unbelievable. How many other people have died in the interim..they aren't picketing those funerals. What about the guy who committed suicide and took 3 other people with him (the drunk guy who hit the other car head on after deliberately making a u-turn).
Not to sound morbid or in anticipation but the day one of the Phelps' lose one of their clan, I can't wait to see the number of picketers to THAT funeral.

See, they aren't trying to determine who's death is god's anger, they are trying to determine who's death will they be able to exploit to cause the greatest amount of anger. That's all they care about. Pissing people off so they can sue them. These are some of the most disgusting human beings on the planet, because I'm willing to bet that they don't even believe what they are saying, they are just trying to make people mad.
