Rep. Connie Mack (R – Fla.) was a guest onStarting Point Friday morning — live from CPAC — and took the occasion to rip into President Obamafor his health care mandate, saying that the President doesn’t respect the Constitution and that personal freedoms and liberties don’t matter to him.
Host Soledad O’Brien played a series of clips of conservatives talking out against the birth control mandate before turning to Mack.
“I think this is a huge issue,” Mack said, “that continues to show that this administration doesn’t believe that the Constitution and personal freedoms and liberties matter.”

Mack added that the birth control mandate “shows an arrogance,” and used President Obama’s background as as a lawyer to imply that he could cleverly work around the Constitution.
“Whatever the words of the Constitution are don’t matter to him,” Mack said. “He will interpret it in a different way, and think that is what has created this frustration.”

Is it just you or are you so sick and tired of the "He doesn't care/know about the Constitution..." or "He is a facist/socialist/marxist/communist"
Stick a fork in me. I'm done.
There are more important issues than contraception. I can think of a few....

The President doesn’t respect the Constitution and that personal freedoms and liberties don’t matter to him. But the Health care lobby, pays him to not respect the American people, and allow them a help in getting a common since help, for their lives and a reasonable non expensive help for their family.

DId I miss something in the constitution. Is there a provision for birth control? I didn't think so.
Aside from that crap from the right... the whole contraception issue boils down to this.. it's labor issue. The Church pays unemployment insurance, workers comp, disability, etc. This is about health insurance coverage ....since the church is an EMPLOYER they have rule and regs to follow just like everyone else. Funny how 26 state already have this requirement in their laws.. and now SUDDENLY the adminstration has a war going on against religion?
Gee Rep Mack you or your wife ever use contraceptions?

I can't speak for everyone but I for one hope the "words" in the constitution mean less to our lawmakers and public officials than the "intent" behind the words.

That's not entirely accurate. The president will attempt to manipulate the words in the constitution whenever he can to fulfill his fascist vision for the country.

fascist vision for the country
That would be the GOP.
Epic Fail.

You guys can't seem to get the socialist, communist, fascist labels straight, you know they don't all mean the same thing, so for clarity sake and to make yourselves sound like your on the same page you might want to pick ONE and stick to it.
He can't be all of them. It doesn't work that way.

Another soldier in the war against women complaining that Obama doesn't care about "personal freedoms and civil liberties?"
What a hoot!
This current dust-up only serves to prove that a govt. run health-care system is the only way to prevent conflict between what an American citizen requires in terms of health care and his/her employers beliefs.
