Southern Mississippi University lived up to the racist reputation of the deep South on Friday when members of the school band chanted an offensive question at a Latino player on the opposing team.

As he prepared to shoot his free throws, Kansas State point guard Angel Rodriguez was forced tolisten to a chant of “Where’s your green card?” coming from the audience.

Manhattan Mercury reporter Cole Manbeck tweeted that the racist serenade came from members of the Southern Mississippi band.
