The conservative magazine National Review fired columnist John Derbyshire Saturday evening for his controversial column in another publication urging white and Asian parents to tell their children to avoid contact with African-Americans they don’t know.
In a blog post, the Review‘s editor Rich Lowry expressed how Derbyshire’s column “The Talk: Nonblack Version” in Taki’s Magazine resulted in his dismissal.
“So there has to be a parting of the ways,” Lowry wrote. “Derb has long danced around the line on these issues, but this column is so outlandish it constitutes a kind of letter of resignation.”
