So the GOP platform for the forthcoming election has been revealed.  And it is fair to say if they had moved any further to the right they would be falling of the end of the flat earth they just know really exists.  Some of the key themes:  anti-fed, anti-healthcare, anti-women and anti-gay.  In fact it seems to me that it is anti-anything that is not exactly like them and what their little gang of middle aged, middle class golf club, bible buddies believe, and use to keep the power in the hands of the few.  Now call me cynical but I think the 50’s was a pretty crap place to live for the majority of folks and this never ending insistence on trying to push back to a time of inequality and injustice is something else entirely.

So to a summary list of the highlights

• NO ABORTION IN CASES OF RAPE OR INCEST.
• SALUTE TO MANDATORY ULTRASOUNDS.
• NO LEGAL RECOGNITION OF SAME-SEX COUPLES.
• REPLICATE ARIZONA-STYLE IMMIGRATION LAWS. 
• AUDIT THE FED.
• NO WOMEN IN COMBAT.
• NO STATEHOOD, MORE GUNS FOR WASHINGTON DC.

 

So can you decide which is the most thoroughly objectionable or is it just too hard?
