“Friends, do we ever need your help. This week liberal MSNBC host, Rachel Maddow, has been on a campaign to smear and discredit Congressman Paul Ryan.”

That somewhat comical and pathetic plea for help came from The Campaign to Defeat Barack Obama, a PAC which sent out that dialing for dollars email in August, after Rachel Maddow, policy wonk extraordinaire, laid into the newly minted VP candidate. But let’s be honest, “smear” is a strong word, because discrediting Paul Ryan isn’t exactlyrocket science. It’s quite easy to do because he’s what most people would refer to as a liar. 

Nevertheless, their fear is palpable when it comes to Maddow, because she’s an adherent to the facts, not ideology, and in Republican Crazy Town™, that will induce enough violent knee-knocking to set off the Richter scale monitors.
