A woman who was sexually abused aged 12 by a teacher was described as 'careless and negligent' in a lawsuit launched against her by the school district.

Kristen Cunnane had filed a $15 million lawsuit for unspecified damages against the Moraga school district in California.

Ms Cunnane, a 30-year-old swim coach, has alleged she was sexually abused over a prolonged period by science teacher Dan Witters at Joaquin Moraga Middle School in 1996.
